Dr. Cass Bowers recently concluded her dissertation manuscript focused on diversity awareness and elevating the needs of Black women in nonprofit organizations. Dissertation Title: The Intersectional Experiences of Black Women in Nonprofit Leadership.
Dr. Cass has over 20 years of diverse Human Resources, Training, and Communications experience. Additionally, she spent more than eight years teaching HR, Business, and Marketing courses for several colleges in the Milwaukee area.
Dr. Cass recently joined the Wisconsin Race Class Narrative Project, All in Wisconsin, to help develop and facilitate training for progressive organizations, individuals, and campaigns who want to use Wisconsin-specific research and tested messaging frameworks to advance a shared narrative related to race and class.
At the beginning of this year, Dr. Cass was elected the Board President for the African American Roundtable, a nonprofit on a journey to organize the Milwaukee community to transform policies so that all residents can thrive and live life at their most significant potential.
In 2020, Dr. Cass helped train organizers on the Relational Organizing program, the Empower App, and the Organizing From Home Academy for a portfolio of more than 30 nonprofit organizations from across the country as a Coaching Specialist.
Dr. Cass is very proud of her work as the Communications Director at the ACLU of Wisconsin. Her efforts resulted in a New York Times article and Good Morning America coverage during her tenure there.
On a more personal note, Dr.Cass is a devoted mother, daughter, and grandmother. Her grandchildren affectionately call her Gigi. She spends her free time with her four grandsons and many hours per week lending her communications talents to helping local organizations meet the community's needs.
